Impacto social do turismo no desenvolvimento do distrito de Vilankulo, caso da localidade de Quewene

Abstract

The work aims to analyze the social impact of the development of tourist activity in the Vilankulo district in the locality of Quewene. In methodological terms, the work was prepared in the primary and secondary database, where the primaries were collected on the basis of participatory observation and semi-interview structured in the form of a script of questions applied to 99 (24 workers and 75 for local community) beneficiaries of the tourist activities of the total sample surveyed and who subsequently were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods and the secondary data were collected through bibliographic research through consultation of documents relevant to the study. The results found that, the tourism sector in the study area develops several activities at the local level that allow for the improvement of social life at the community level in areas of social interest as a way of boosting local development through guarantee employment, education conditions, health, and social infrastructure.Tourism in the locality of Quewene has had an increasing evolution since the beginning of develop the tourist activity, since the development programs implemented tourism services contributed to the improvement of the living conditions of those beneficiaries, as most of those who practiced fishing have been gaining good income, in which with these gains some made small informal ventures that has been improving their living conditions when purchasing basic necessities, durable goods, housing construction and renovation as well as meeting the needs educational activities of their students. Being that, of the three (03) tourist instances that operate in the study location, 160 jobs were created, corresponding to 2.25% for the local families, where 131 of the total employees are men and 29 are women, part of that community before these services basic sustainability activity was the practice fisheries.
