Gênero entre conceito e realidades: uma abordagem ao contexto Moçambicano

Abstract

The fundamental objective of this work is to explain the synonym between gender and individuals to the female biological sex to the detriment of other possible realities that the concept of gender can encompass. Emphasizing the relationship between concept (theory) and gender reality, we seek to demonstrate that the various moments throughout history that the concept has gone through, emphasizing that the process of production and validation of knowledge in general and, of Anthropology in particular, respect not only internal coherence, but they are also and above all conditioned by the external validity that dictates the contours of the knowledge in question. We adopted a qualitative-exploratory type of research, for which we consulted bibliographic and documentary sources, and conducted semi-structured interviews with “gender discourse makers”, at MMCAS, DEMG-CEA and at Fórum Mulher. Based on this procedure, we obtained results that allow us to consider that, in Mozambique, the concept of gender remains a concept to represent social realities, however, the synonym gender and female individuals is the result of the possibility of not including male individuals. not due to its inexistence, but conditioned on the one hand by researchers' interests and affinities, in relation to theoretical approaches around the gender issue, influenced by multiculturalism and on the other by financing conditions, which favor the validation and legitimation of the synonym mentioned .
