A adesão de mulheres à Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus na Cidade de Maputo: o caso do templo da Baixa

Abstract

The present work with the theme: “The adhesion of women to the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God”: an anthropological study, analyzes the factors that contribute to the adhesion of women in the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in Maputo: the case of the temple of Low. Its general objective is to understand the process of women joining the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in the city of Maputo, in the Baixa temple. Specifically, the research (i) intends to analyze the profile of women who adhere to the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God; (ii) identify the types of meetings created for participation of believers, in particular women and (iii) explain the factors that contribute to the adhesion of women to the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. In carrying out this work, bibliographical and documentary research, semi-structured interviews and informal conversations were carried out. They were interviewed (women and men believing in the Church), (pastors responsible for the temples of Baixa, Khongolote, Gwava and Capela). The results of the study indicate that the adhesion of women within the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God is linked to several factors, such as the invitation of family members, the change of residence, the resolution of financial, spiritual, family and health problems and by initiative own. Another factor is that women integrate and remain due to the closeness that the Church maintains with believers, freedom of expression and the teachings that it passes on to believers about the pertinence of the search for the “holy spirit” as an essential element for achieve the salvation of their souls.
