A narrativa da crise de intelectuais em Norberto Bobbio

Abstract

This research focuses on The Narrative of the Crisis of Intellectuals in Norberto Bobbio. From antiquity to the present day, the social role of the intellectual is extremely important, but the instrumentalizing tendency of intellectuals by political power must also be recognized. This practice calls into question their critical capacity to debate ideas for social transformation in a free and fair way. In general, the social implications of the crisis of intellectuals were reflected upon based on the thought of Bobbio, and in particular, the key concepts were addressed and Bobbio's thought was contextualized, the social role of intellectuals was debated, and finally, the relationship between intellectuals and politics was discussed, where a parallelism was sought between the reflection made in Bobbio and the African context, and especially the Mozambican context. The methodology of this study consisted of a bibliographic review aided by the hermeneutic technique. Based on the reflections raised, it was found that the centrality of reason and the advances in science ended up compromising the real role of intellectuals in society, because the intellectual posture in the modern sense not only changes its classic role, but also its principles, in the sense that they no longer follow universality, truth and justice or the public cause. And due to their submission to dominant powers, intellectuals, by serving interests that are not merely social, impoverish society and contribute to the crisis of moral values ​​and, above all, the social good.
