O contributo dos assistentes sociais no processo de reintegração familiar dos pacientes deficientes físicos - estudo de caso dos Serviços de medicina do Hospital Central de Maputo (2016-2017)

Abstract

The present monograph is subordinated to the theme The Contribution of the Social Worker in the process of reintegration of disabled patients - case study: Medical Services of the Central Hospital of Maputo. The purpose of this study was to analyze the contribution of the Social Worker in the process of reducing cases of recidivism of disabled patients hospitalized in the medical services of Maputo Central Hospital. The review of the literature and the analysis of the results of the interviews and the direct observation allowed to identify the main factors that influence in the cases of recidivism of hospitalization of the patients with physical disability after family reintegration in the services of Medicine of the Central Hospital of Maputo. For this, a qualitative research was conducted, characterized by the inductive approach method and the case study procedure method. An interview was applied to 32 respondents, selected from a non- probabilistic sample by accessibility. In conclusion, it was found that the family reintegration of the patients is incomplete and the hypothesis is accepted that the lack of follow-up of the Social Worker after the family reintegration of the disabled patient as well as the poor follow-up of the relatives of this patient is associated with the cases of reentry. As recommendations for the preparation and urgent implementation of a plan for monitoring and evaluating patient reintegration, performing psychosocial support and home visits to ensure that the family does not fall into situations of stress in the face of the new reality and helping to create mechanisms of adaptation and solving their own problems and ensuring that there are no relapse situations of patients with physical disabilities after family reintegration.
