A morfofonologia das marcas do passado remoto imperfectivo em Emakhuwa

Abstract

This work, which is part of the study of the Bantu languages of Mozambique, focuses on describing the marks of the imperfective remote past in Emakhuwa. It is a study aimed at identifying the morphemes that mark the remote past and the various forms of the imperfective aspect of that same tense in the language under study, as well as analyzing the phonological manifestations of the morphemes in question in affirmative and negative verb forms. The study consists of five chapters: the introduction, which, in addition to presenting the topic under study, the motivation and classification of the language and the spatial location of its speakers, also identifies the importance of the study, the objectives, the contribution and the organization of this research; The second chapter is the research methodology, which describes the strategies used to obtain and analyze the data and characterize the informants. The third chapter, which refers to the literature review, discusses the basic concepts of our study, as well as reviewing some works dedicated to the study of Bantu languages in general, and Emakhuwa in particular. The fourth chapter shows how the imperfective remote past behaves in Emakhuwa, examining the morphological marks of the remote past tense and the imperfective aspect of that tense. Finally, the fifth chapter presents, based on the observations made during the course of this research, the conclusions and recommendations for future work. (TRADUÇAO NOSSA)
