Abstract

This research work focused on the Role of the School Library in the Teaching and Learning Process. The main objective was to understand the role of the school library in the teaching and learning process. A qualitative case study methodology was used with a descriptive and explanatory focus, where a semi-structured interview was applied to students and employees of the Primary School in Maguiguana. The research was developed from the theoretical framework on school library, teaching and learning, the library's role in the teaching and learning process. The results revealed that the library has a rich didactic collection for the consumption of the students, but the students of the Primary School Complete of Maguiguana do not attend it, since it is not accessible to them and few are aware of its existence. It was also found that teachers and students recognize the importance that the library has in the teaching and learning process, but emphasize the need to create conditions for the library to be open and accessible to students and teachers
