Proposta de implementação de um itinerário histórico-ecológico no parque nacional de Chimanimani

Abstract

This project addresses the proposal to implement a Historical-Ecological itinerary in the Chimanimani National Park. The same is the initiative of the student, motivated by the existence of a diversity of natural and peculiar cultural resources whose exploitation for tourism is in its infancy. For the design of the project, specific objectives were defined: i) Identify the tourist resources of the PNC; ii) Hierarchize the tourist resources of the PNC; iii) Describe the profile of practitioners of tourist itineraries in the PNC; ii) Design the tourist itinerary for the PNC; iv) Present the implementation strategies of the Historic-Ecological itinerary in the PNC. In order to achieve the objectives, a methodology centered on the technique of surveys was applied, and interviews were directed to the head of the Department of Conservation, Tourism and Community Development and the head of the Department of Protection and Inspection, in addition to the community leaders. In turn, the questionnaire surveys were addressed to 40 potential practitioners of the itinerary, and inventory of tourist resources. The itinerary designed is Historical-Ecological, and in the first phase it is intended to take 25 participants, starting from the city of Chimoio and ending at the main camp/gate of the Park, it will last for four days. It is expected that the promotion of the tourist itinerary in the PNC will obtain the following results: i) Streamline the tourist attractions of this park and transform the destination as a reference in the region and be more prominent in the country, in Africa and in the world in general; ii) Stimulate the awareness of the population of the Province and the country in general to have a culture of visiting the Park; iii) Create balance in the economic use of forest resources, wildlife and local products.
