A representação da poligamia em Niketche: um pretexto para o questionamento da tradição e modernidade moçambicanas

Abstract

This work focuses on the work Niketche A History of Polygamy by Paulina Chiziane and has as its theme: The Representation of Polygamy in Niketche: A pretext for questioning the Mozambican tradition and modernity. The main objective of this work is to show how the author represents or portrays the phenomenon of polygamy in the work, taking into account the Mozambican cultural and social context and, above all, to analyze within it how this phenomenon manifests itself in the context urban, taking into account its definition in the traditional context. As a way to achieve our goal, we operate with the concepts of representation in literature, polygamy, identity as a literary construction, modernism and stereotype, in the same language. The present work will consist of four chapters. In the first, which will be the introduction, we will define the working hypotheses, the objectives that are intended to be achieved with it, we will justify the choice of the theme and we will talk about the contributions that we will be giving with the achievement of the previously outlined objectives. The second chapter will be reserved for the bibliographical review where we will present the relevant operative concepts for the execution of this work mentioned above. The third chapter will be reserved for the analysis of the work. In this analysis, we will seek to critically reflect on how the phenomenon of polygamy is portrayed in the work, taking into account the questions it is subject to. And finally, the fourth and last chapter will be reserved for conclusions
