Abstract

The present work has in view the study of fantastic phenomena in Ualalapi and has as theme Fantastic in Ualalapi”. The study is in the field of Literature and intends to be a contribution to a greater knowledge of some aspects of Mozambican literature. In it, we intend to verify the circumstances in which unusual phenomena appear or are represented in the work. This narrative was chosen because it presents numerous supernatural events and also because of the fascination we have with this type of literature. In order to achieve our goal, it is therefore necessary to draw a brief overview of the fantastic; to present the positions of different scholars and the characteristics of this type of narrative to, in this way, see if they coincide with the work in question. Despite the progress made in this area, this genre lacks a deep and consistent analysis due to the similarity it has with the strange and wonderful genres. However, we note that there is a consensus among scholars regarding unusual phenomena, agreeing that any narrative that has as its dominant theme the meta-empirical manifestation that is never fully explained or accepted, is considered fantastic. The work consists of four parts: The first part outlines the theme, presents the problem, hypothesis, motivation, objectives and importance of the study. Part II refers to the Literature Review. In it mention is made of studies on fantastic literature, approaching the characteristics of this type of works taking into account authors who deal with this subject. The themes and techniques are also mentioned. literary of the fantastic. Part III concerns the Study of the Fantastic in the work. Here the interpretation of the unusual phenomenon is made.
