Uma descrição morfo-sintáctica das extensões verbais em Cinyanja

Abstract

With this work we intend to show that the verbal extensions are part of the derivational morphology from which new verbs were formed, or still form, in the Nyanja language. In the first chapter we talk about the Nyanja language, its classification according to Guthrie (1967/71), the variant we propose to study, the theme and the reasons that led us to choose this theme. In the second chapter we present the theoretical framework; the various theories and their framework. In the third, we briefly cover the most relevant studies carried out in this language. In the fourth chapter we present the methods we use in collecting and analyzing the data that are part of our “corpus”. In the fifth chapter we have the definition of the extension and pseudo-extension with the presentation of the structure of the simple and extended verb, the description of the verbal extensions and of the extensive co-occurrences. And at the end we present the conclusions, the consulted bibliography and the annexes: four tables systematizing the extension data
